Short answer: Armaf Club de Nuit Blue Iconic is the Bleu de Chanel alternative with the most outside coverage in a published roundup, and it projects more than the original. Maison Alhambra Maitre De Blue adds oud to a similar citrus-ginger structure, and Versace Dylan Blue is a designer alternative, not a clone. None is the original, and none can be called identical.
This page is desk research. It draws on Amazon listings checked on October 20, 2026 and a published roundup. We have not smelled, worn or blind-compared any of these. The roundup comes from Scento, which sells perfume and decants, so its ranking is opinion with a commercial interest, and its own tables contradict each other on some details, which we note below.
Quick comparison
Scento lists Bleu de Chanel with grapefruit, lemon, mint and pink pepper on top, ginger, nutmeg and jasmine in the heart, and incense, cedar, sandalwood and labdanum at the base.
| Alternative | What the source says | Notes shared with Bleu de Chanel | Check first |
|---|---|---|---|
| Armaf Club de Nuit Blue Iconic, 3.6 oz | Grapefruit, lemon, mint, pink pepper, coriander; ginger, melon, jasmine, nutmeg; incense, amber, cedar, sandalwood, patchouli | Grapefruit, lemon, mint, pink pepper, ginger, jasmine, nutmeg, incense, cedar, sandalwood | Stronger projection than the original per the roundup |
| Maison Alhambra Maitre De Blue, 3.4 oz | Adds bergamot and melon on top, and amber, patchouli and oud at the base | Grapefruit, lemon, mint, pink pepper, ginger, nutmeg, jasmine, incense, labdanum, sandalwood | The roundup calls it Matière de Bleu |
| Versace Dylan Blue EDT, 3.4 oz | Aquatic notes, bergamot, grapefruit and fig leaves; violet leaf, papyrus, patchouli, pepper; musks, tonka, incense, saffron | Grapefruit, incense | A designer alternative, not a clone |
The alternatives
Armaf Club de Nuit Blue Iconic: the most outside coverage
Scento compares it with the Eau de Parfum, says it has stronger projection and sillage than the original, and cites a Fragrantica rating of 4.25 out of 5 from more than 4,200 reviews and a reviewer, Misterbeane. It adds that many enthusiasts estimate the similarity at 80 to 90 percent, which is an estimate, not a measurement. The roundup calls it Club de Nuit Iconic; Amazon’s listing is the 3.6 oz Eau de Parfum for men, titled Club de Nuit Blue Iconic, from a third-party seller. Armaf does not describe it as a Chanel alternative.
- Choose it if you want the roundup’s best-documented option and a stronger presence than the original.
- Skip it if you prefer a quieter scent; the same source says it projects more.
Maison Alhambra Maitre De Blue: oud in the base
Scento’s table lists a base that adds amber, patchouli and oud to the incense and sandalwood, which it says gives a richer, more layered base, and cites a Fragrantica rating of 3.81 out of 5 from 211 reviews. It says some retailers claim up to 98 percent similarity, which it does not verify, and that the product is also called Maitre de Blue, which it does not confirm. The Amazon listing is the 3.4 oz Eau de Parfum for men titled Maitre De Blue, from a third-party seller.
- Choose it if you like the Bleu structure and want more depth in the base.
- Skip it if you want the lighter, cleaner finish of the original.
Versace Dylan Blue: the designer alternative
Scento calls Dylan Blue a designer alternative rather than a clone, slightly fruitier and more aquatic. It lists aquatic notes, Calabrian bergamot, grapefruit and fig leaves on top, violet leaf, papyrus wood, patchouli and black pepper in the heart, and mineral musks, tonka, incense and saffron at the base. The 3.4 oz Eau de Toilette is sold by Woot.
- Choose it if you want a blue, fresh-woody designer scent with a different personality.
- Skip it if you want a close Bleu de Chanel match.
Names you may see but did not link
Scento also lists Paris Corner Acadia Intenso, French Avenue Zenith Deep, Nota Midnight Bleu, Millian Dark-Knight, SOSA Bleu de Chanel Recreation, Bourjois Ramier Sovereign, Dossier Citrus Ginger and The Dua Brand Bleu de Dua. We did not find matching in-stock Amazon listings for them. It says Millian markets Dark-Knight as inspired by Bvlgari Man in Black rather than Bleu de Chanel.
The original, if you would rather start there
Amazon lists Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum in 1.7 oz from a third-party seller, new when we checked. We did not find a new, in-stock Eau de Toilette listing, so the Eau de Toilette is not linked. Our Bleu de Chanel buyer guide explains who it suits, and our woody cologne guide compares it with other woody picks.
Before you buy any of them
- Sample the original first. If you do not enjoy Bleu de Chanel itself, a cheaper interpretation will not fix that.
- Name what you like. If it is the citrus-and-mint opening, check the top notes above; if it is the incense and cedar finish, the base notes are what to compare.
- Judge each alternative on its own. Buy it because you like wearing it, not because a roundup used the word “dupe.”
- Compare the seller and the return terms. Opened fragrance is often final sale.
The Amazon links on this page go to exact listings that were new and in stock on October 20, 2026, several from third-party sellers. Check the size, concentration and seller before ordering. Scent For Him may earn a commission from qualifying purchases.
FAQ
Is any of these the same as Bleu de Chanel?
No. Each is a separate formula from a different maker, and none of the makers describes its perfume as a copy. The comparisons come from a retailer roundup that cites Fragrantica and Parfumo ratings and enthusiast estimates, so treat them as opinion.
Which alternative shares the most notes with Bleu de Chanel?
Armaf Club de Nuit Blue Iconic, going by the roundup’s table. It lists grapefruit, lemon, mint and pink pepper, ginger and nutmeg, jasmine, and incense, cedar and sandalwood, all of which also appear in the roundup’s Bleu de Chanel list. Overlap on paper does not mean the two smell alike.
Which Bleu de Chanel is the roundup comparing with?
Mostly the Eau de Parfum, and some picks the Eau de Toilette. Chanel also sells a Parfum, and the roundup’s tables are not consistent about which version each pick targets, so check the version before you compare.
Why is Versace Dylan Blue in the list?
Scento calls it a designer alternative rather than a clone, slightly fruitier and more aquatic than Bleu de Chanel. It is included as a related blue woody scent, not as a dupe.
